Nov. 12, 2013 Newsletter: Profile of The Minister We Seek; Profile of the Congregation

Profile of The Minister We Seek; Profile of the Congregation

As part of the Congregational Record (our overview of ourselves for prospective ministers), the Ministerial Search Committee (MSC) was asked to include a "profile of the minister we seek" and a "profile of the congregation." Working from what we heard at the Listening Sessions and what you told us in the survey of the congregation, we wrote up our answers. To see what we wrote, click here. (See the directly preceding blog post.)

In the week just past, these answers were approved as appropriate by our Ministerial Search Consultant at the UUA. We hope that we have reflected the congregation well. We will have more opportunities to communicate with prospective ministers. If you have further thoughts, you can reach us at searchcommittee@lay.firstunitarian.com

In fact, the next communication with prospective ministers is just around the corner. Read on to learn more!

Would YOU like to assist the MSC?

The MSC is currently preparing the Congregational Packet to help prospective ministerial candidates understand our congregation and our community. The Congregational Packet is a large collection of textual and audio-visual materials that we will assemble and make available on a newly created website accessible only to ministerial candidates.

Can you help us? We need a well-organized and creative person to volunteer to help the Search Committee collect and organize photographs, samples of our newsletters, annual reports, orders of service, and so on. We need to have the Packet completed and ready for posting by Thanksgiving.

To learn more about the time frame and what the project entails, please contact Alison Ronn at Alison.Ronn@lay.firstunitarian.com .
